Rotating blowout preventer equipment
1. Shape and Structure
This rotary blowout preventer is mainly composed of the rotating assembly, the housing and the hydraulic power station.
2. Main Working Principle
The drill pipe rotates through the drive core assembly on the rotary blowout preventer, driving the rotating sleeve, the central tube, and the rubber sealing core along with the drill string to rotate together. The rubber core relies on its own elastic deformation and well pressure to assist in sealing around the drill string. The dynamic seal between the central tube and the rotating assembly is achieved through the upper and lower dynamic seal assemblies.
The hydraulic power room is used to supply lubricating oil to lubricate and cool the internal components of the rotating assembly and the moving seal assembly, and to circulate the liquid to cool the upper moving seal assembly.
3. Usage and Scope of Application
The rotating blowout preventer is installed on the top of the annular blowout preventer or the ram blowout preventer. During the implementation of underbalanced drilling techniques and other pressure-bearing drilling operations, it is used to seal the rotating drill tools and play a role in diverting the flow. When it is combined with hydraulic blowout preventers, drill string check valves, liquid-gas separators, and non-pressure well running and pulling pressure-boosting devices, it can safely carry out pressure-bearing drilling and non-pressure well running and pulling operations. It plays a very important role in special operations such as liberating low-pressure oil and gas layers, leak-proof drilling, gas-filled drilling, and non-pressure well repair.
4. Advantages:
a. The clamp structure is simple, and it is convenient and quick to replace the rubber core and the assembly.
b. Sealing method: Passive type
c. The hydraulic device is simplified and the operation is relatively straightforward.
d. The inner diameter of the main body and the lower part of the split component is large. When using the downhole tools, there is no need to disassemble the housing.
